ショーン・コネリー

プロフィール

30年8月25日、スコットランド生まれ。本名はThomas Sean Connery。幼い頃からアルバイトをして家計を助け、中学から働きに出て卒業後はトラック運転手に。１８歳で海軍に入隊。病気のため除隊してから新聞社など職を転々としていたが、友人の勧めで受けたミュージカル『南太平洋』のオーディションに合格し舞台に立ったのをきっかけに本格的に俳優を志し、57年「No Road Back」で映画デビュー。が、その後もあまり陽のあたることは無かった。そんな折、57年の「虎の行動」出演をきっかけに「００７／ドクター・ノオ」でジェームズ・ボンド役を得てスターの座に就く。以後、ボンド役を引退してからも数々の映画に出演。87年、「アンタッチャブル」でアカデミー助演男優賞を受賞し、99年には英国王室からナイトの称号を与えられたが、06年に俳優を引退するとのコメントを出した。前妻である女優ダイアン・シレントとの間に生まれた息子ジェイソンも俳優。
